SPYING IN MEXICO
AXIS AGENTS’ INTRIGUE ’PHONE LINES TAPPED (Reed. Jan. 31, 11 a.m.) MEXICO CITY, Jan. 30. A Congressional investigation committee disclosed the existence of Axis spying by 35 foreigners, including a nephew of the German Ambassador to Turkey, Fritz von Schlehbruegge, and also other Nazi agents who cunningly tapped the telephone wires of the United States Embassy. It was stated that an unnamed beautiful Alsatian woman had been dubbed the leader of the Axis Mata Hari Corps.
