JAPANESE CLAIM
BRITISH PLANES DOWN (Reed. Dec. 27, 11 a.m.) TOKIO, Dec. 26. It is officially stated that 40 British planes were shot down and eight on the ground set on fire and a power station completely demolished during a mass raid on Rangoon on Thursday. Eight Japanese planes are missing.
