An official warning has been received from Washington that hostile planes were reported two hours out of New 1 ork. The Mitchell Field air base, Long Island, is on the alert. All families have been evacuated from Mitchell Field, and every Aeroplane has .taken off.

Singapore reports two air raid alarms during the night but no actual raids. The Japanese have attempted further landings on the Malay Peninsula. Fighting continues for the Kotabaru airfield.

Agents of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation seized nearly 400 German and Italian aliens throughout the nation. Raids were made during the night, according to an authoritative source The German Embassy in Washington declined to comment to-day on current reports that they had begun to burn official papers.
