HOME GUARD ISSUE COMPANIES TO PARADE MOBILISATION TRIAL A further stage in equipping the Gisborne Battalion of the Home Guard will be completed this week, when combat units will he issued with web equipment. Special parades for this purpose will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, D. and B Companies mustering at Sargood’s buildings at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively on Wednesday, and A. and C. Companies at 7 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. respectively on Thursday. The web equipment will he worn on Saturday’s trial mobilisation of the Home Guard in Gisborne, in connection with the trial of the emergency precautions services in the town area. All officers of the battalion are notified through routine orders of a meeting to be held to-night at 7.30 o’clock at Sargood’s buildings, to discuss plans for co-operation between the E.P.S., National Military Reserve, and Home Guard in Saturday’s trial. Company, at Sargood’s buildings, at 7 p.m.; Military Band, at band rooms, at 7.30 p.m.; Engineers’ Company, at High School, at 7.30 p.m.; Headquarters Company, medical and signals, at High School, at 7.30 p.m.; Motor-Cycle Platoon, at Aber■corn Hall, at 7.30 p.m.; battalion signals class for companies, at High School, at 7.30 p.m.

Thursday, December 11. —A. Company, at Sargood’s buildings, at 7 p.m.: C. Company, at Sargood’s buildings, at 7.30 p.m.; Pipe Band, at Bignell and Holmes’ garage, at 7.30 p.m. Saturday, December 13. —Battalion muster, at Sargood’s buildings, at call. (Time to be notified by siren and bell alarms.)

Sunday, December 14.—D. Company and Bowser Platoon, at Awapuni road, v at 9 a.m. (full-day parade); Engineers’ Company, at Awapuni road, at 9 a.m. (if wet, parade cancelled).
