United States defence officials said to-day that armament needs may require the automobile industry to eliminate limousines, roadsters, and coupes and confine their output to two and four-door sedans, without, bright work, wool upholstery and rubber mats. Double-bar bumpers may also be eliminated. The Office of Price Administration notified automobile dealers to-day that it proposed to fix price ceilings for both wholesale and retail passenger cars because inflation had already begun in the automobile industry.
