STRONG ANGLO-U.S. BASES JOURNALIST’S VIEW (Reccl. Dec. 2, 3 p.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 1.
Mr. R. A. G. Henderson, chairman of the Australian Associated Press and general manager of the Sydney Morning Herald, arrived by Clipper en route to New York and London. He said he had visited Singapore and Manila en route to the United States, and was impressed by the tremendous progress in defence preparations at both places. Commenting on the Pacific situation, he said: “The facts look pretty grim, but instinct says that_everything is all right.”
