ATTACK ON BARDIA
NAVAL ASSISTANCE NEW ZEALAND RATINGS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, has received advice that a cruiser which is partially manned by Royal New Zealand Naval personnel has been engaged in recent bombardments of enemy positions on Bardia, which were carried out as a preliminary to the attack by the New Zealand troops on November 22 and resulted in the capture of the port. During the last stages the cruiser attacked a concentration of German tanks north-west of the fortress.
