The property of Senora A, Santos, wile of Senor Mario Santos, newlyappointed Consul for Brazil in Australia and New Zealand, the jewellery was taken from her suite aboard the liner. Senora Santos had temporarily left the suite and returned to find the jewels gone from her dress-ing-table Joining the liner en route with other United States police officers on another assignment, Detective Carver was called in to investigate the robbery. Pie kept a close watch at various ports of call.
