By ii Gazette Extraordinary released last r ight, a total of 4(384 members of Class A for the First Division of the general reserve are called up for service overseas. The list comprises men. between the ages of 21 and 40 years, many of whom only recently became members of the overseas service group.

Of the 359 men of the No. 7 military area named in the ballot list, 90 are from Gisborne, Wairoa and the East Coast. The list includes, according to a note attached to the official declaration of their obligation, the names of several men who have volunteered for service, and others who are now serving in the armed forces. One Gisborne name is that, of a volunteer who has been discharged from camp owing to an injury for which he is now in receipt of a pension. The Minister of National Service, the Hon. R.
