PRO-ALLIED FEELINGS
BRAZILIAN PEOPLE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Brazil, the fourth largest country in the world, with a population of 50,000,000, was 95 per cent pro-Allied, said the. Hon. Mario Santos, the Brazilian Consul at San Francisco for the past four years, who has been appointed Consul-General for Brazil to New Zealand and Australia, interviewed at Auckland to-day. Accompanied by his wife and two children, he will make Sydney his headquarters and will revisit the Dominion shortly to present his credentials to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser. Thereafter he will make regular visits. The new post was recently created. Senor Santos said there was intense sympathy for Britain in Brazil. The national policy was neutrality in the war.
