CENTENARIAN’S DEATH
98 YEARS IN DOMINION MRS. G. E. LEE (For Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. Another link with, the past was broken in the death in her hundredth year of Mrs. G. E. Lee, Hastings. She was born in Stroud, England, in 1842 and was brought to New Zealand by her parents, arriving in Auckland by the ship Union in March. 1843. She therefore saw Auckland in its infanev and is in the unique position of having been in New Zealand over 98 years. Her husband, who was a wellknown solicitor, died in 1920.
