USE OF AXIS SHIPS

SOUTH AMERICAN STATES EIGHT NATIONS APPROVE (Reed. Nov. 28, 10.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 27. The Washington correspondent of the Journal of Commerce says that the plan of Latin American countries to utilise 85 immobilised Axis vessels for the north Atlantic trade moved a step further when eight South American republics approved of the proposal, based on the principle which is described as an effort to see that the vessels now idle in American ports will be utilised on particular routes, carrying articles of a specific nature in order to promote the defence of the economies of the American republics as well as the peace and security of the continent.
