OBITUARY
MRS. BETSY SHAW
OLD TOLAGA RESIDENT
, The death of Mrs. Betsy Shaw, which occurred at her residence in Tolaga Bay last night, removed one who was well known for her assistance and attention towards sick people during her early years in the district. She did this at mUch inconvenience to herself, for in those days communications were not as easy as they are now. Mrs. Shaw was born in Auckland 78 years ago, and was a resident of Tolaga Bay for the past 35 years, during which time she assisted in the activities of the district as much as she was able, and dliring the last war she took a very active part in patriotic efforts. Her husband, Mr. William Shaw, died 12 months ago. A family of four daughters and three sons mourns their loss, Mrs. W. S.tanhard, Jtuatoria, Mrs. B. J. Smith, North Auckland, Misses Grace and Dorothy Shaw, Tolaga Bay, Mr. W. G. Shaw, Fort Dorset, Mr. Neil Shaw, Gisborne, and Mr. lan Shaw, Tolaga Bay.
The interment will take place at the Tolaga Bay cemetery to-morrow, the funeral leaving the deceased’s residence at 2.30 p ; m._ _ _
