CRIME IN AUSTRALIA A CHARGE OF MURDER (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Fvess Aa?n.) SYDNEY. Nov. IT The fourth son of Mr. Rowley James. Labour M.P. for Huntei, William James, aged 22. was shot dead at the South Maitland railway workshops this morning. The bullet went through his heart. Police visited the works and interviewed a number of employees. They took possession of a sawn-off rifle ot small calibre, and arrested a man. Later, Ray Randolph Hindle, aged 38, machinist, of Oakhampton, was charged at the West Maitland Coin l with having murdered James. He was remanded until December 1. James, who was married only five months ago, had been employed at the workshops for 10 months as a fitter. Hindle was formerly a leading speedway rider. Mr. James, M.P., was at Canberra when he heard the news of his son s tragic death. A Government car was placed at his disposal, and he left for Maitland, accompanied by another member of Parliament.
