Excellent Drivers.

A tribute to the service car drivers in the Gisborne district was paid >y Mr. F. G. Farrell, president of the Automobile Association (Auckland), when speaking at a Gisborne meeting last night. He said that owing to the petrol shortage he and the secretary, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, had travelled by service car, and the driver on the latter part of the journey was one of the best he had ever seen. Rail Aroha Club. A further donation will be forwarded to the marae committee of Poho-o-Whetu, Te Kuri, better known as Awapuni, as the result or an enjbyable dance held by the Ran Aroha Club in the Selvyn Hall, on Saturday night. The duties of M.C. were undertaken by Till Rahann Rangi,. and music was contributed by Wiremu Kerckere, extras being played by Miss Paputere. Mrs. Keita Waiti, assisted by Erana Maaka, acted as doorkeeper. It was announced that there were vacancies for instrumentalists in an orchestra which would be playing for marae and patriotic functions.
