OBITUARY
MRS. F. G. STEVENS The death occurred suddenly last night of a well-known resident of the district, Mrs. Kate Ralston Stevens, wife of Mr. E. G. Stevens, Wainui Beach. Mrs. Stevens was in her usual health yesterday, and attended church during the morning, but her death occurred late last night following a sudden seizure. Born in Gisborne 70 years ago, Mrs. Stevens spent the whole of her lile here, and, following her marriage to Mr. E. G. Stevens, lived on their properties at Waimata, Whatatutu and Hexton. They have been living recently at Wainui Beach. In her earlier years Mrs. Stevens was a nurse, and was one of the first in the Cook Hospital under the matron, Miss Stewart.
The husband and a family of four daughters and one • son are left to mourn their loss, the family consisting of Mrs. J. W. Robb, Patutahi, Mrs. A. E. W. Smith, Wairoa, Misses S. R and O. R- Stevens, Wainui Beach, and Mr. G. R. Stevens, Hexton. There are also five grandchildren. The interment will take place at the Taruheru cemetery to-morrow, the funeral to leave the house following a service to be held there at 2 p.m.
