Shipping Information.
An instruction to its employees to adhere closely to the request of the Government in relation to the publishing of information regarding shipping movements and cargo figures was given by the Gisborne Harbour Board at its bi-monthly meeting to-day. The board received correspondence in which the need for secrecy in such matters was explained, and the chairman, Mr. A. J. Nicol, ruled that shipping statistics, cargo volumes, and returns of revenue from ship charges, harbour improvement rate, and cargo dues were covered by the instructions.
