KAITI WORKS SITE

TRANSFERS OF INTEREST BOARD GIVES SANCTION Consequent upon the proposal of the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat and Mercantile Company, Limited, to transfer its half-interest in the Kaiti freezing works to another company, the Gisborne Harbour Board was asked recently, in' its capacity of landlord of tlie works site, to consent to the transfer. The matter came to a head at to-day’s meeting of the board. A special committee reported that documents submitted by the board’s solicitors were peruse'd. The deed of covenant subjecting the incoming firm tc the terms of the Kaiti works site lease having been executed by all of the companies concerned, the committee agreed that the board’s consent to the transfer be sealed under the hands of the chairman, Mr. A. J. Nicol, Mr. L. Miles, and the secretarymanager, Mr. H. A. Barton. The deed of covenant assured the board of certain financial rights in the event of the site being abandoned by the lessee.

The board adopted the recommendation of the committee.
