Messrs. C. G. E. Harker, M.P., and L. G. Harker, brothers of Mr. H. L. Harker, spent last week-end as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harker, Wairoa. The Rev. Harold G. Goring, minister of the Thames Baptist Church, has accepted a unanimous cal) from the congregation of the Caversham Baptist Church, Dunedin. Advice has been received that Miss Eila G. Simpson, a Gisborne student at Canterbury University College, has been granted terms in Political Science I, Economics 11, and History 111.
Inspector D. Mac Lean and Mrs, Mac Lean, Gisborne, left during the week-end to visit Wellington and Timaru. Sub-Inspector G. Lambert, of the Wellington police force, is relieving in Gisborne during the absence of Inspector Mac Lean.
