SHEEP-PELT FURS
AMERICAN PROCESS ‘BEAVER' MOST FAVOURED (Reed. Nov. 1, 1 p.m.) BOSTON, Oct. 31. Mr. Jose Calva, a Minneapolis chemist, has invented a process whereby sheep pelts are rendered waterproof and curlproof. The process turns the pelts into simulated furs of almost any type. “Beayer” made from Merino is most fancied. Apart from the conversion of sheep skins the Calva process has improved opossum skins so successfully that it. is believed large numbers could be utilised for making magnificent coats. Collier’s Magazine, discussing the new process, says it produces lustrous fur for making beautiful coats within almost any range of prices from about £lB to about £125,
