OWNER LOSES APPEAL
CHANGE IN PLACINGS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The appeal lodged by Mr. J. Fearon, owner of Caroline Bay, against the decision of the Wanganui District Committee in connection with the placings in the Farewell Hack Handicap at Marton on September 20, has been dismissed by the New Zealand Racing Conference. Mr. Fearon’s deposit was refunded. The race resulted in a dead-heat between Salvation and Imperium, with Caroline Bay third On a protest, Caroline Bay was placed equal first, with Salvation third. The appeal by the owner of Imperium, Mr. R. J. Harper, against Caroline Bay being bracketed equal first was upheld by the Wanganui District Committee.
