Travellers from Bangkok report that the Thailand police arrested the manager of a Japanese-owned Thailand hotel following a search which disclosed grenades and other weapons on the premises. U.S. OIL FOR RUSSIA (Reed. Sept. 8, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 7. A second American tanker with petrol for Russia has arrived at Vladivostock. Japan has renewed the protests to the United States and Russia against such shipments. MISSIONARIES LEAVE (Reed. Sept. 8, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK. Sept. 9. All American missionaries have been withdrawn from Japan, thus leaving American missions for the first time since 1889.
