CHANNEL GUNS FIRE

LONDON, Aug. 18. Dover had a gunfire warning shortly before midnight. Several salvoes fell into the sea, shaking buildings, but none fell on land. It is believed that the Germans were trying to hit a convoy in the Channel. The shelling lasted 10 minutes.
