TWO PAGES FOR ONE
GOVERNOR’S SPEECH SYDNEY, Aug. 12., Accidentally turning over two pages instead of one, the State Governor, Lord Wakehurst, omitted to read ohe page of his printed address to Parliament, and as a result failed to mention main items of the Government’s legislative programme. Officials at Parliament House could find no precedent for such an incident. The Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Dunn, said that in 30 years’ Parliamentary experience he had never known of a similar omission to occur. Few members of the public noticed the Governor’s omission, but Parliamentarians were quick to sense that something had gone amiss. As they filed out of the chamber there was a buzz of comment.
