BOMBER SHOT DOWN
BRITISH MINESWEEPERS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 19. An Admiralty communique states that a Junkers 88 which attacked a group of minesweepers was shot down into the sea. It was hit by light antiaircraft fire from the minesweepers in a group and by shell from His Majesty’s trawler Charles Doran. There were no casualties or damage to our ships.
