PIGEON RACING
P.B. HOMING SOCIETY A large attendance of enthusiastic members sit the meeting of the Poverty Bay Homing Pigeon Society, held last evening, indicated a successful season ahead. It was decided to commence the season’s activities oa September 7, with a Mock race from Napier, an airline distance of 84 miles. Further races will be conducted each week. During the course of tin; meeting opportunity was taken by the chairman, Mr. J. McLean, to make a presentation to the retiring secretary, Mr. R. Hall, who is shortly to join tlie air force. All members of tin? society expressed their regret at the loss of a popular and efficient secretary and assured him that a warm welcome awaited him on his return. Mr. Hall thanked everyone for their good wishes and expressed his intention of again becoming active in the sport at the earliest opportunity.
