Heavy Seas at Napier
For three days towards the end of the month the worst swell conditions experienced for many years prevailed, but shiping at the wharves was only slightly inconvenienced on this account, reported Captain. A. McLaughlin, harbourmaster, at a meeting of the Napier Harbour Board. The chairman, Mr. Trevor M. Geddis, described the seas as being the worst since the earthquake 10 years ago. Minor damage estimated to cost £25 was done to the breakwater mole. The whole of the new work was unscathed desrite tne Heavy seas.
