OIL FUEL CONTROL
BUSINESS INTERESTS REPRESENTATION PLAN (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this clay. By arrangement with the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, a representative of the Manufacturers’ Association, the Employers’ Association and the Chamber of Commerce may now be appointed to an oil fuel advisory committee in any particular district. It was slated yesterday that in Canterbury the three Canterbury organisations had already arranged for the appointment of Mr. W. R. Carey as their representative on the Christchurch committee, and other appointments were under way in respect of Timaru, Ashburton, Greymouth and Blenheim. One effect of the change, it was stated, will be to give general commercial interests direct representation on the advisory committee.
