AUSTRALIAN BOMBER 1500-MILE JOURNEY (Reed. Aug. 19, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Aug. 19. The first Australian-built Bristol Beaufort torpedo bomber flew from Cairns, North Queensland, to Melbourne, a distance of 1500 miles in 7hrs. 45mins., the longest and fastest flight ever made in Australia.
