Advice was received by the Hawke's Bay Education Board in Napier on Friday that the department was not making any increased grant m school committees this year. Mr. H. A. Maddison, chairman, stated that (he estimates this year for allowances was £IBI,OOO, which represented an increase on last year’s estimate of £5009.
