CHILD DROWNED
FALL INTO RIVER MISHAP AT PLAY (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, this day. Kevin James Corrigan, aged two-and-a-half years, was drowned yesterday in the Jordan River, Upper Awa-tc-re. when visiting the Awapiri sheep station with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Corrigan, Picton. Kevin and his small sister were playing near the river when the boy fell in. A station hand rode downstream on horseback and recovered the body hall a mile away. Artificial respiration was applied for over an hour.
