WALLSEND MINE IDLE
The Wnllsencl mine was idle on Friday iollowing a dispute over the interpretation of an overtime clause in the agreement. The men held a slopwork meeting at the mine mouth. The manager, Mr. F. Lockington, asked the men to go to work and to refer the matter to the disputes committee, but the men demanded an immediate settlement. The manager adhered to his request, and the men thereupon decided to return home.
