MOTU NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of parishioners held in the Motu Hall. The Rev. J. D. G. Hodgson was present and read the balance sheet and also gave a comprehensive report of the year’s activities in the Te Karaka parochial district. Messrs. A. R. Pierce and R. S. Fisher were re-elected wardens at St. Paul’s Church, Motu. After the meeting was over a jolly social evening was held, voluntary music being supplied by Mrs. C. Whitehead, Misses U. Reed and J. Jackson, and Messrs. S. Davis and J. Peddle. Community singing led by Mr. Hodgson was much enjoyed, and Mr. W. J. Reed was an efficient M.C. A dainty supper was supplied by members of the ladies’ guild. Mrs. S. G. Pearce, Opotiki, is the guest of Mrs. G. Motu.—Mrs. P. Parker and family, Auckland, arc visiting Mrs. 11. C* Boys, Whakarau roach—Corporal J. Thessman is visiting Motu while on leave from Papakura training camp.—Mr. J. Green has been appointed to the Motuhora railway staff in place of Mr. S. Charlesworth, who has been transferred to Paekakariki. —Mrs, H. Fraser has left Motuhora to reside at Pacroa. —Mrs. T. Parker, Motuhora, is visiting Nu h aka.
