WATERSIDER GAOLED
BOTTLE OF BEER STOLEN CONSIGNED TO TROOPS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Fourteen days’ hard labour was imposed by the magistrate, Mr. J. L. Stout in the Police Court yesterday, on a watersider, Frederick Warner, aged 54, for stealing a bottle of beer valued at Is 6d. It was stated that 5000 cartons ot beer were awaiting shipment to the troops overseas and that Warner took one. It was also stated that he had been working on the wharves for 24 years.
