SOLDIERS’ OBLIGATIONS OPERATIONS OF BOARD (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The working of the Soldiers’ Financial Assistance Board is described in the annual report of the State Advances Corporation. It provides relief for soldiers and their dependants who are unable to meet reasonable commitments owing to the enlistment if the breadwinner. Applications lodged to March 31 total 3464. The necessary funds come from the war expenses account. Last year’s expenditure was £43,092, including £7683 interest on mortgages, £24,000 for rent and £2176 for hire purchase payments and £7193 for insurance premiums.
