RUGBY & BASKETBALL
SCHOOL V. OLD STUDENTS Rugby and basketball teams chosen from among the old students of the Gisborne High School are to play teams representing the present students at the school at 2.45 p.m. to-morrow. The competitions are those in a series to promote closer understanding between present and past pupils of the school and have become an annual fixture. Players are reminded that they are to provide their own gear. An old students’ dance is to be held in the Selvyn Hall in the evening. The teams are as follows: • Rugby.—Backs, N. G. Balfour, A. Kane, V. S. Caulton, G. P. Sheppard, A. J. C. Webster, A. Owen, and N. Kane; forwards, A. H. DeCosta, T. Bennett, R. W. James, J. Campbell, E. F. James, J. S. Allen, D. Armstrong, and D. A. Wells. Basketball.—Centres, Misses N. Henderson, L. Scott and M. Appleby; goals, Misses T. Parfitti E. Pert and B. Cameron; defence. Misses I). McAiienemy, M. Cassey, and J. Douglas. The school Rugby team which is to take the field Is the same as that which was playing at the end of the game against the Hastings High School on Saturday. The team is:—Backs, R. Livingston, Monk, J. Martin, Thompson, D. Ria, S. Wills and Smale; forwards, Davies, Falconer, Stubbinga, Gibson, Turnbull, captain, McCajlum, Maynard and R. Bull; emergencies, Robinson and Nelson.
