OBITUARY
The death occurred in Hamilton recently of Mr. Ernest Charles Thomas, a well-known and respected Waikato resident. He was born in Greytown 13 years ago and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. Thomas, of Noroa. He' began business as a sawmiller in the Otaki district, where he resided fqr some years, before leaving for the Xing Country and Gisborne. Later he moved to Hamilton. As a young man, Mr. Thomas was a well-known athlete. He married Miss Jane Collier, of Te f-loro, who survives him. There are two sons, one recently invalided home from England, and the other residing in Gisborne. Mr. Thomas is also survived by four brothers, Mr. G. Thomas, Gisborne, Mr. A. Thomas, Balclutha, Mr. E. Thomas, Hamilton, and Mr. A. Thomas, Bay of Plenty, and two sisters, Mrs. G. Bellingham, Te Kuiti, and Mrs. J. Archer, Carterton. There are three grandchildren.
