Russian Soldiers
Sir. —In the Great War I. remember that while a member of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, in January. 1913. our forces in action in the forward areas of Poligan Wood received word that the Germans were massing guns from the Russian front and at the time, like the rest of our chaps, did it hard. I would draw the attention of “John Bull" to the fact that the Russian soldiers had stood up to the Hun for three years under awful conditions until they considered it was just plain murder and signed a pact with Germany. Had the war gone on against Russia the Hun certainly would have captured Russia and where would Great Britain have been to-day with a Nazied Russia under German control? 1914 TO 1913
