DARING BURGLARY
MOTOR ACCESSORIES HEAVY PIECES REMOVED Over £2OO worth of motor-car repair tools and accessories were stolen from the Hokitika garage of P. R. Quinn Motors, Limited, early on Thursday morning in a daring burglary. Entrance was -gained to the building by sawing off a steel hasp holding a "padlock on the front. The thief or thieves methodically removed motor repair equipment from the workshop, including heavy pieces which had to be unscrewed from concrete beds. Among the articles taken were three sets ot stocks and dies, each valued at £l3, while much other equipment stolen is irreplaceable under present-day conditions, „ , ... The office was not interfered with, but in the storeroom a quantity of motor accessories was taken. An unsuccessful attempt was made tc secure petrol from pumps inside the building. Apparently at the same time a lock was cut off the door of a garage on the opposite corner of the street owned by Greymouth Motors. Limited, but in this case nothing i: missing.
