“VERY DELICATE”

BUT NOT IRRETRIEVABLE MR. FRASER’S VIEWS (Reed. Aug. 12, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 11. The Evening Standard’s diarist says that the Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. P. Fraser, regards the situation in the Far East as serious and very delicate, but not irretrievable. Mr. Fraser said: “The New Zealand Government and people stand foursquare in this matter with the United Kingdom and other Dominions. They are ready to face calmly and confidently whatever is coming.” Mr. Fraser returned to London o-day after touring the leading cities of Britain, in which he addressed many gatherings on the subject of New Zealand’s war effort, the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and the fighting in Greece and Crete. Mr. Fraser gained an excellent impression of the manner in which the people of Britain had stood up to the bombing and the keenness of the industrial workers.
