WAIPIRO BAY DANCE

(Herald Correspondent.) A dance was given in honour of Leading Aircraftman Forrest H. Thompson in the Waipiro Bay Trading Company’s Hall, which had been gaily decorated with red. white and blue and the letter V ..intermingled with greenery. There were visitors from Tokomaru Bay \ and Te Puia among the gathering. The Rev. A. R. H. Morris, chairman of the Waipiro Bay Patriotic Committee, presented Leading Aircraftman Thomson with a small cheque, the recipient suitably responding. Mr. Chas. McCracken, Te Puia, spoke in behalf of those present. Musical items were given by Waipiro Bay Maori girls. Mr. Hone Heke and the committee were congratulated on the arrangements made for the evening. A dainty supper was served by the committee, and Mr. George Te Ruie supplied the music.
