TURANGANUI CLUB The first qualifying round for the ladies' .'hampionship played hy the Turamjanui Clolf Club at the Tuoi links on Saturday, result-ed:-Mrs. Robb, 87; Mrs. Halbert, 92; Miss Aneell. 95; Miss Koopu, 96; Mrs. Railed, 98; Mrs. Ivess 105; Mrs. Williams, 108; Mrs. Marshall, 110; Miss Ofiilvie, .110; Mrs. Dolman, 112; Miss Brock, 113. Mrs. Ivess won the medal round with 69. Miss Aneell, with 71, and Mrs. Halbert and Miss Koopu, with 72, were other good ;eorers. The men’s results were:—N. Halbert, 76; ?. Kaua, 78 ; 11. Halbert, 78; <7. Butler, 81 ; C. Pere, 82; V. Ivess, 83; N. Williams, 83; R. Robertson, 84; VV. Marshall, 85; R. Ivess, SO; T. Smilor, 90; C. Hume, 94, The medal round was won by V. Ivess, with an excellent 62. N. Halbert, 66, R. Ivess, 6S, R. Halbert and N. Williams, 71, were the best of the other competitors. The men’s committee buttons were held hy T. Smiler and N. Halbert by defeating C. Pere and C. Hume. Over the week-end a series of matches was played between the Park and Turmigiumi clubs. The Park ladies visited Turanganui and were beaten by seven games to one. The park club was visited by the men. who were defeated by five games to three, after many close and enjoyable games.
