TONNAGE REPLACED

DIVERTED BRITISH SHIPS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Referring to the cabled report that the United States Maritime Commission was transferring three Danish freighters to the Union Steam Ship Company, the acting-Prime Minister, the Hon. W. Nash, said to-night, that these vessels would replace three Union Company ships transferred to other routes. Discussing a report that the Californian Texas Company is arranging for two tankers to be diverted to the New Zealand-Australia run, Mr. Nash said that any extra facilities . that would provide further petrol supplies for Australia and New Zealand and would not endanger the major ,war effort would be more than welcome.
