EARLY MORNING TEST

GUARD AND AUXILIARY An emergency test of the Wanganui Home Guard and Women’s War Service Auxiliary transport sections was carried out in the egrlv hours of Thursday. .Members of the sections were called bv telephone at 1 a.m., and informed "that they had to be at an assembly area, embus troops, and be at a marshalling place at. 1.45 a.m. Headquarters called sub -section leaders by telephone, and the leaders in turn called up the personnel of their units. Those not on the telephone were called by the nearest neighbour having the telephone. The assembly area was reached in good time, and from there members of the section proceeded to a rendezvous and waited five minutes to allow for the embussing of troops. From there they went to marshalling points in Taupo quay.
