MEMORANDA

The annual tea of the Gisborne Citadel Band of the Salvation Army will be held at j p.m. next Thursday, and everything possible is being done by officers and members of the band to make this one of the best band teas yet held. The women members of the organisation have become yory enthusiastic in their preparations. The Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Bull, will preside, while they will he supported by Mr. D. W. Colernan, M.P., if he is in Gisborde, and by Major and Mrs. J. Mahalfie, commanding officer of the Hastings corps. On coming to New Zealand from Scotland Mb lor Mahalfie joined the Wellington Salvation Army Band and later became an officer in the organisation, going first ns assistant to Dunedin City. Since then he has travelled throughout New Zealand and those present at the tea should be assured of a happy time under the leadership of Major and Mrs. Mahalfie.
