Steel For Building
The decision of the Building Controller not to allow the Bruntwood Co-operative Dairy Company sufficient steel to build a reinforced “starter” room at the company’s factory was criticised by the chairman of directors Mr, W. N. Perry, at the annual meeting. “I see that a permit has beegranted to build an hotel in HamiHr in reinforced concrete,” said Mr Perry. “The company required only three tons of steel, but, despite appeals to the building controller anc’ the Minister of Marketing no pcrmil could be obtained for the steel.”
