MEETING U.S. DEMAND

Reed. 2 p.m. RUGBY, May 3. The following announcement has been made from No. 10 Downing Street: “In response to increasing demands in the United States for fuller and more complete information concerning Great Britain’s war effort and for an improvement of the supply of news from British sources, it has been decided to entrust the direction of existing British information services in the United States to Sir Gerald Campbell, now serving as His Majesty’s Minister at Washington. “Sir Gerald Campbell is to assume the position of Director-General of British information services.”
