NEW AEROPLANE SAVED
LONDON, May 17,
Flight-Lieutenant Philip Lucas, who took up the first Typhoon, the latest K.A.F. fighter, for a test, has been awarded the George Medal for saving the aeroplane from destruction by his great courage and presence of mind.
The Typhoon has a higher ceiling than any enemy aeroplane, and is faster, is better armoured and has a greater range than any other Air Force machine now in service. Its speed is known to be well over 400 miles an hour.
