WORKING FOR NAZIS
FACTORIES IN FRANCE
LONDON, May 20. Details of the systematic exploitation of France are given by a special correspondent of The Times, who says that German “economic troops” dominate industry and agriculture. “These,” he adds, “have been picked from the former German Economic Intelligence Service throughout France, which operated during and after the Battle of France, in close contact with the High Command, in order to .save important factories for German use.
“For instance, heavy industry Buffered very little war damage, and production is now nearing the 1940 peak. All the Schneider-Creusot factories in occupied Franco are under German management. Some are manufacturing war materials, and other subsidiary for Germany, thus freeing additional German factories for war work.”
