’i The fine war work being carried on ’ by the Y.M.C.A. is indicated in the . fact that the organisation is rendering 1 1 service in 12 centres in the Auckland , Province. It has erected buildings at 1 i Hobsonville, Whenuapai, Whangaparaoa, Papakura, Narrow Neck and ( North Head and one is nearing com- , pletion at Ngaruawahia. It is working i in marquees at Cambridge, Rotorua ! Whangarei and Waipapakauri, and one is about to be erected at Avon- | dale. Mr, W. Caldcr Mackey, er j special commissioner acting for the J association’s national council, ir supervising all work in the camps ol the province. To care for men or i leave, the association has provided an 'excellent clubroom in its building in Wellesley street east, Auckland, which at the week-ends accommodates more than 100 men in uniform.
